Firestone Farm Tires Earns IRPE Award

Bridgestone Americas’ Firestone Farm Tires has received a 2013 Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence (IRPE) award.

The IRPE is a National Baldridge-based process that recognizes role model organizations for sustainability and maintaining a future focus on performance excellence. Firestone Farm Tires manufacturing plant in Des Moines, Iowa, is recognized as an example manufacturing business and is the first tire plant to receive this award. The tiremaker’s Des Moines division earned silver level recognition and will receive the award in April.

Ken Allen, president of the Firestone Farm Tires brand, said the manufacturing plant received bronze level recognition in 2012 with its first submission for the award. He said it was an honor to receive the award again for this past year.

“Our teammates continue to be committed to future sustainability and performance excellence at every level of our business and manufacturing processes. Earning this award assures us that we are on the right pathway, doing what’s right and best for our customers, our community and the industry,” Allen said.

The IRPE is one of 39 state award programs aligned with the National Baldridge Performance Excellence Program.
